Dubbo Teenagers Charged After Park Stabbing

by September 24, 2025

Four youths are in custody after Dubbo teenagers charged in connection with a stabbing that left a 41-year-old man hospitalized. The incident unfolded at a park in Dubbo’s west on Tuesday evening, sparking an immediate police response.

Stabbing Incident at Cobra Street Park

Emergency services were called to Cobra Street, Dubbo, around 5pm on 23 September 2025. Witnesses reported that a man had been assaulted and stabbed by a group of teenagers before they fled the scene. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 41-year-old victim on-site before transferring him to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Officers from the Orana Mid-Western Police District quickly began inquiries, leading to multiple arrests. A 15-year-old boy was initially taken into custody near the scene but was later released without charge as investigations continued.

By the following day, detectives had intensified efforts. At a local school on Boundary Road, police arrested a 13-year-old boy. Additional arrests followed at a home on Gilbert Street, where three more teenagers—aged 13, 15, and 16—were detained and transported to Dubbo Police Station.

Charges Laid Against the Teenagers

The 16-year-old boy now faces serious allegations, including reckless wounding in company, affray, and breach of bail. He has been refused bail and is set to appear before a Children’s Court on 25 September 2025.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company with others. He too was denied bail and will face the Children’s Court alongside his co-accused.

The two 13-year-old boys were dealt with under the provisions of the Young Offender Act, which allows for alternative measures outside the formal court system.

Ongoing Community Concerns

The case of the Dubbo teenagers charged has raised broader concerns about youth crime in regional New South Wales. Local communities remain on edge following recent reports of violence involving minors. NSW Police have emphasized that inquiries remain active and additional charges could follow as the investigation progresses.

This incident underscores the importance of continued vigilance in addressing youth violence, with law enforcement working closely alongside schools and families to prevent further escalation.
