The company’s approach combines a Mixture of Experts (MoE) architecture with a bias-detection mechanism. It trains two neural networks: one to detect deepfakes and another to prevent bias. The second network forces the first to focus on manipulation signs, not demographic patterns. This process ensures that the system remains fair, even when faced with diverse demographic groups. By training on a globally representative dataset, Ant’s model can detect fraud without bias.

Ensuring Fairness and Security in Digital Payments

Ant’s AI model is now part of its payment system to protect against deepfake fraud. The company claims its model detects over 99.8% of deepfakes across all demographic groups. This is especially important in 200 markets where Ant operates. It ensures fairness and prevents financial exclusion.

Ant’s AI also helps meet global Electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) standards. This ensures that customers can safely onboard, without any risk of bias. It’s a step forward in making digital payments more accessible, especially in emerging markets.
